Wendy and Alex Haig’s relationship with VHC Health began in the 1960s with an emergency visit for Alex’s broken arm. This marked the start of a connection with the health system that would later include the births of Wendy’s four sons and three grandchildren and extending to the compassionate end-of-life care Alex received after multiple cancer battles. “VHC Health has given us the joy of seven new lives and the peace of one perfect goodbye,” Wendy said.
Honoring a legacy of care with generosity
The continuous and compassionate care provided by Dr. Anthony Casolaro and his team—especially during Alex’s cancer treatments—deeply impacted the Haig family.
In honor of Alex and the care he received, Wendy made a significant donation to VHC Health in the name of Dr. Casolaro, internal medicine and pulmonary disease specialist.
“Our family is forever grateful for how you helped us navigate saying goodbye to Alex and how you continue to provide the finest medical care,” Wendy said.
