Randy Anderson Jr., a dedicated supporter of VHC Health with a nearly 69-year connection to its care.

Washington, D.C. — For Randy Anderson Jr., support for VHC Health spans generations and milestones, reflecting a lifetime of care experienced by those closest to him.

“My family has generally been blessed with good health. However, the hospital has been a continuing part of our lives, starting with the birth of my wife Jocelyn, the birth of our sons, the care our younger son Ryan received after a high school football injury, and the care my mother received in her final years of life,” said Randy.

Turning gratitude into action

These experiences shaped a strong sense of appreciation. They also inspired a commitment to give back. Anderson believes access to care should never be taken for granted.

“Good health is central to leading a good life,” he said. “Having access to healthcare helps achieve this goal and is worth supporting.”

Investing in access and innovation

That commitment led to deeper engagement with the VHC Health Foundation. Anderson and his wife joined the Galen Society. They later stepped into a leadership role to support a transformative capital project.

“My wife and I joined the Galen Society a few years ago and subsequently agreed to co-chair the philanthropic effort to fund construction of VHC Health’s Outpatient Pavilion,” he said. “We believe the Outpatient Pavilion in combination with VHC Health’s strategy to bring healthcare out to its communities has been a game changer. We are proud of the small part we can play.”

Their involvement reflects a belief in expanding care beyond traditional settings. It also underscores the importance of meeting patients where they are.

Championing community-based care

Anderson views VHC Health as an essential part of the region’s well-being. He emphasizes the importance of local leadership and responsiveness to community needs.

“Having a locally headquartered healthcare provider that is attuned to the community’s needs and focused on providing the services and care to address them is vitally important to everyone in that community’s wellbeing,” he said.

Looking to the future

Sustained philanthropic support is key to advancing that mission. Anderson hopes his family’s giving helps ensure continued excellence in care. He also believes it will strengthen VHC Health’s ability to attract top talent.

“My hope is that our support will assist VHC Health to continue to attract top medical staff and provide the resources to bring best in class healthcare to our friends and neighbors,” he said.
