Lisa Muras, RD, CDE
Outpatient Dietitian, Diabetes Educator
Virginia Hospital Center
Lisa is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and completed her Dietetic Internship with Sodexo.
Lisa is currently an Outpatient Dietitian with Virginia Hospital Center’s Outpatient Diabetes and Nutrition Program. Along with diabetes management education, she provides medical nutrition therapy to patients with a variety of health conditions, including renal disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and weight management. Lisa enjoys meeting with clients interested in improving their health through better nutrition.
Lisa lives in Fairfax with her husband and three children. Prior to becoming a RD, Lisa worked in marketing and public relations, primarily in the technology industry.

Chef Prastavna “Prassu” Mehta
Chef Prastavna “Prassu” Mehta has been cooking her entire life. She is the founder of Classic & Modern Cooking, now in its 7th year. Every class is custom-designed and thoughtfully tailored to match the culinary preferences and experience levels of every student. Prassu has taught classes of all sizes and levels, from novices to professional chefs, vegans to carnivores.
With a dual Masters degree and as an International Baccalaureate teacher with more than two decades of experience, she has researched, traveled, and taught about cultures and cuisines from all over the world. Prassu also conducts team building culinary workshops, summer cooking camps for children, and leads a monthly gourmet cooking club called the Kitchen Queens. Prassu is a passionate educator of all aspects of cooking, baking, and nutrition.
